TBS Attorney Obtains Preliminary Approval of $48 Million Settlement

On July 25, 2013, Judge Leighton, USDC Judge for the Western District of Washington, granted preliminary approval of a proposed consumer class action case involving Werner pull-down attic ladders. The proposed settlement would provide approximately 300,000 consumers with a new attic ladder to replace the allegedly defective Werner pull-down ladders. Werner Co. would send replacement ladders to each consumer at no cost. Based upon the average retail cost of the new replacement ladders, the proposed settlement represents approximately $48,000,000 in value to the consumer class.
