Washington Wage and Hour Class Action Against Wal-Mart Settles

For the past seven years, TBS has represented 80,000 current and former Wal-Mart employees in a class action alleging that Wal-Mart violated Washington’s wage and hour laws. The December 2008 settlement was one of 63 wage and hour class actions that Wal-Mart settled late last year. The Washington settlement provides for payment of up to $35 million to eligible associates who worked for Wal-Mart in Washington since September 10, 1997. TBS attorney Christopher Brain said, “We’re very pleased with this settlement and believe that it is a good result for our clients.” The settlement must now be approved by the trial court.
