On November 22, 2013, Judge Leighton, USDC Judge for the Western District of Washington, granted approval of a consumer class action case involving Werner pull-down attic ladders. The settlement provides approximately 300,000 consumers with a new attic ladder to replace the allegedly defective Werner pull-down ladders. Werner Co. will send replacement ladders to each consumer at no cost. Based upon the average retail cost of the new replacement ladders, the settlement represents approximately $48,000,000 in value to the consumer class.
