Case Details

Tousley Brain Stephens’ Janissa A. Strabuk serves on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in multi-district litigation against the NCAA, college football conferences, colleges, and universities, for injuries resulting from concussions and head trauma that collegiate athletes suffered while playing college football.  Scores of class-action lawsuits filed by former college football players have been consolidated before the Honorable John Z. Lee of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  The players, some of whom received numerous concussions during their college careers and suffer from long-term brain and neurocognitive injuries, are seeking compensation for their injuries. They claim that the defendants had a duty to protect and safeguard the student athletes, but failed to do so resulting in substantial harm.
