Kim D. StephensMonsanto Genetically Engineered Wheat Contamination Class Action
TBS represented Pacific Northwest soft white wheat farmers against Monsanto Company in a case related its genetically modified Round-up resistant wheat, which the FDA never approved for growing in the United States. In May 2013, Monsanto's genetically-modified wheat was discovered growing wild on an Eastern Oregon farm, which resulted in market disruptions to the exports of soft white wheat and damaged farmers. Monsanto agreed to pay $2.5 million into a settlement fund for Washington, Oregon, and Idaho wheat growers harmed by the market disruption.
