SEATTLE, Washington – June 19, 2017 – Jackie M. Leader and Cecily C. Shiel have joined Tousley Brain Stephens PLLC as associates. The Seattle law firm has a nationally recognized litigation practice and a renowned Pacific Northwest transactional practice.

Jackie Leader’s practice focuses on a variety of business matters. She assists clients with forming and operating businesses, including employee hiring, termination, and noncompetition agreements, and provides advice on federal and state wage-and-hour best practices. Leader helps individuals and businesses efficiently navigate and negotiate business transactions, such as the purchase and sale of businesses and assets, and she analyzes and drafts contracts, leases, and licenses. Jackie also represents clients in real estate transactions, including title work and financing. Jackie is a member of the King County Bar Association, the Latino Bar Association of Washington, and the Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association of Seattle (MAMAS). She earned a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas Law School. She is admitted to the Washington State Bar, the Minnesota State Bar, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Cecily Shiel’s practice focuses on a range of civil litigation matters, including commercial litigation and class action litigation.

Before joining Tousley Brain Stephens, she was an associate at the Perey Law Group PLLC and served as a law clerk to Justice Charlie Wiggins of the Washington Supreme Court. She also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Robert S. Lasnik of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and the Honorable Bradley A. Maxa of the Washington Court of Appeals – Division II. Cecily was the chief managing editor of the Washington Law Review while at the University of Washington School of Law and was a member of the Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Team. Cecily has a B.A. in International Studies and Chinese Language from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a J.D. from the University of Washington School Of Law.
